rolling stones bootlegs

As l said with the Beatles bootlegs, there's really no excuse, apart from the fact l am a sad old git.  This is only some of The Rolling Stones stuff l have.

framed new york stuff

We've got a few of these sort of frames around and about, featuring cards, adverts and bric a brac from trips.  This is from some early trips to New York, up to 1999, when we were there to see Manchester United win the treble at Nevada Smiths, and l got a small NYC year of the rabbit tattoo to commemorate it, plus blisters on my feet from buying some converse trainers that were too small.

rasta man wood carving

Our rasta man wood carving that was bought in Jamaica on our honeymoon in 1993.  Hangs in the hallway at the top of the stairs.  I'd have liked to have explored Jamaica more, as l love some of the music and culture, but it was just too dodgy, and we were getting hassled everywhere.  I've been to a lot of places around the world, but this was the worst vibe l experienced, and it was enough to put me off nightclubbing in town, although we did go out independently during the day.  What a disappointment, especially on honeymoon, as all we were left with was food, drink, sex and TV at the hotel, so it wasn't all bad (except for the sex of course).

my old portable tv

This old TV is never used now, but as l am a sad git who doesn't like to get rid of stuff, it is gathering dust in the spare room.  It was bought in 1988 at Binns in Darlington, and served me well for many years.  It still works excellently (but will need a freeview box now), and reminds me of being a bootleger, as l viewed so many music videos on it.  It cost about £200 if l remember correctly, which was a lot of money back in the day, but it was worth every penny.  It's only in the last few years we have moved on to large TV's, mainly for the football (for me) after the expansion of Sky, and this used to be the main TV.

don't touch my banana art

Bought at an outdoor market in Amsterdam a few years ago, and currently leaning against the wall at the top of the hallway.  It amuses me, but it is sometimes turned round when we have elderly guests (not by me).

one of the monkeys

This toy monkey was bought as a valentine present at the card shop by Tesco in Catterick, without realising that it said 'Top Boyfriend' on it's t-shirt, so the shirt stays rolled up. It hangs on the back of the living room door and makes a monkey noise when the door is opened, or if we sometimes walk past.  An excellent present it turned out to be, as it is over two years old now, and still working.

one of the lovely fans

Cheap and yet keeping us cheerful, this is one of the fans we have to keep us cool in the summer (or what little summer we get).  This is in the bedroom, as l don't like to open the windows in case spiders get in.  We have another in the spare room which keeps us cool while on the computer.  The sun may not always come out, but it still gets pretty warm in our house, so these are desperately needed, and used constantly.

There is no excuse for having this many Beatles Bootlegs, apart from the fact l am a very sad man.
