Start with the animals - Jack and Tubbs

Jack the cat, now on her last legs, aged about 21 now, who was originally dumped on my doorstep when l had a flat in Colburn, Catterick. I named her after a man called Jacques who was trusting (like Jack was) in a book by William Wharton (Last Lovers) l was reading at the time she was found/dumped. Used to lie on her back with her legs akimbo to be stroked.  Now deaf, half blind, but still noisy in the morning, meowing outside the door for food.  Used to use a catflap to go outside, but we now put her out the front door and she walks back round and through the catflap to get back in.  Now also has a litter tray by the back door, which she pisses over the side of.

Tubbs the idiot rabbit. Easily the most stupid rabbit we've had, and who now lives indoors. He used to have a brother (Sid) and they lived outdoors together in a large run and hutch until Sid died. Tubbs was then bought  indoors and has a cage by the kitchen. Can come and go as he pleases, but does not like walking on the kitchen tiles or wooden floors, so has to be carried into the living room and then returned to the kitchen afterwards. Still not properly house trained (which is why he is the idiot one), Never used to like people near him, but loves company now.  Named after Hancock's Half Hour (Hancock was called Tubbs by Bill Kerr, and Sid James was in it). Used to jump on the settee, but now refuses to do so.
